The Role

As a Junior Product Designer at KBC, you will play a key role in enhancing the KBC Design System, crucial for supporting our designers and developers across various projects. This role is at the intersection of design and technology, allowing you to influence design tokens, UI components, and patterns for web, mobile, and AI-driven interfaces in line with the KBC Brand team's standards.

What You'll Do

  • Solve customer problems using design thinking.
  • Define design system elements according to brand and product guidelines.
  • Conceptualize ideas and narrow them down to validate the most impactful ones.
  • Create high-quality deliverables, including interaction patterns, design system documentation, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Engage in customer research and usability testing.
  • Collaborate with teams across disciplines to refine your work, ensuring it meets both user needs and business objectives.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in design methodologies, accessibility standards, UI patterns, and web technologies.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Graphic Design studies with internship/co-op experience as a junior designer in Canada.
  • Proficiency in FIGMA or other design software.
  • Skilled in creating mood boards.
  • Strong business acumen, customer-oriented attitude, and excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

 

Job Description

  • Assist the Senior Design Lead in using graphic design software to create user-friendly websites.
  • Collaborate with clients and our Design Operations Team to ensure designs meet business objectives and adhere to accessibility and usability standards.
  • Develop responsive designs for a variety of devices.
  • Support the evolution and maintenance of KBC's digital presence.
  • Utilize product management systems and provide regular updates to KBC Leadership.
  • Comply with Canadian Law and uphold professional ethics.

 

Student Requirements

  • Registered as a full-time student in a secondary or post-secondary institution in Canada.
  • Meets the minimum age requirement for work in the province or territory.
  • Intends to return to full-time studies in the next academic term or is in the final year of studies.

Pay

  • $19.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

 

Job Type
